Systemic Modelling Requires Trust

This morning I’ve been helping a business team; we’ve been modelling one person’s temper and another’s sales process.

It made me realise that when using Clean Language to work one-to-one, you need to trust in the individual system to create the healing and change required. In Systemic Modelling you’re relying on the individual systems to self-heal and at the same time, when one person is rescuing another or intervening, or telling someone what they really think, you need to give enough tools and experience for the group to self-correct but then keep your hands off for long enough for them to rescue or persecute one another and then pick themselves up on it.

Trusting all levels of the system is a trickier task for me and I notice the fine line between intervening and leading the group and inspiring it to lead itself.

I’m wondering what difference the make-up of the group makes? In this group there was one strong leader and three diverse colleagues. I’m not sure whether this made it easier or harder to keep my hands off. If you have experiences of the difference this makes, please comment below.
